Job Description: To deliver great service to our stores through effective day-to-day management and engagement of our transport colleagues. Under the guidance of the Shift Manager, the role holder is responsible for creating an effective and positive working environment, which supports the delivery of the transport KPI’s. Job Responsibilities: Conducts department safety monitoring (PAT tours) and ensures that colleagues health and safety and legislative training is up to date Reviews activity and resource in line with the transport plan, ensuring that this information is fed back into the planning function Displays and drives within the team our values and leadership behaviours Ensures that all site and company legislative processes and procedures are adhered to at all times Promotes effective, and timely two-way communication with colleagues and managers Manages schedule adherence through effective driver management Upholds the delivery of a positive IR climate liaising with the trade union to facilitate good working relations and practices Manages the delivery of our transport KPIs through effective use and interpretation of reports Drives continuous KPI improvement through the delivery of effective driver feedback Ensures that safe working practices are adhered to at all times Delivers effective people management and continuous development of colleagues through feedback and coaching Works within the financial constraints of the transport budget Creates and sustains effective working relationships within transport, building a climate where colleagues feel valued and engaged Job Requirements: Understanding of CPC including Drivers hours regulations Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced ever-changing environment Results orientated Able to communicate effectively at all levels Leadership and Influencing skills Customer focused Coaching and performance management skills Previous management experience CPC qualification Previous transport or distribution experience Analytical skills and ability to plan ahead Job Details: Company: Argos Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Birmingham, England, UK Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here getyourvacancy.com
