Job Description: Working in the Evaluations & International Assessments Department, under the supervision of the Principal, this position will contribute to our end-to-end business intelligence architecture. You will undertake the responsibilities of database application development and testing, data integration, and data mining of the enterprise level of data. You will play an essential role in developing the next generation of database applications from handling rigorous data from unconnected systems to ETL processes, BI reporting, and analytics. Within the ambit of measurement and reporting, we build our in-house database applications to advance the data-driven decision-making initiatives of CPA Canada’s education programs (CFE, PDPA, CPARE, PEP, PREP and ACAF). Further, we are making the data proactive and setting the data in a new pace. Job Responsibilities: Data Analysis and Reporting Administer, operate, and review in-house databases to deliver accurate, timely and compelling reports and services to our customers Prepare the enterprise level of datasets for analysis and reporting Clean, map, iterate, and query demographic and academic data Derive and generalize formula based on established principles Perform large-scale data mining meticulously and persistently Database Development Design features for our in-house database applications to enable back-end data collection, integration, and calculation as well as front-end reporting and analytics. Build, re-engineer and test high quality and efficient codes for in-house database applications and data warehouse Participate in all facets of the development lifecycle such as functional specification design, algorithm design, software development and quality assurance Revise and re-code rules to enforce data integrity and best practices Document development requirements Job Requirements: Results and customer-oriented, with the ability to work collaboratively in a project team environment Academic background and knowledge in information systems, mathematics, and/or statistics would be an asset Working knowledge in MS Access and MS Excel would be an asset Proven quantitative, analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills Positive attitude, reliable and meticulous with unlimited desire to learn and excel Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science and specialized courses in database development, and at least 2 years’ experience in software development or the equivalent combination of education and experience Solid knowledge in object-oriented design The successful incumbent may be required to work extended hours periodically, which may include weekends.
