Job Description: As the Product Developer within the Commercialization Team, you will manage all aspects of product development operations from initial development phase to bulk production. Accountable for scaling a base size prototype to a commercially viable product that meets Patagonia’s standards for quality, consistency and specifications for timely production. You will provide support to the Product Developer team by managing various styles during development and providing administrative assistance with bill of material updates. Additionally, in this role you will provide expert assistance to Production and Quality teams for re-sourcing of styles, costing and quality issues. You will also be responsible for managing factory communication, directly ensuring current and new Product Development protocols are executed. Job Responsibilities: Redevelop existing products with new factories and/or multiple factories. Research garment cost implications of sourcing existing products at new factories. Provide garment cost estimate to cross functional partners to support sourcing decisions. Proof cost sheets against Bill of Materials (BOMs) and negotiate with factory partners to ensure accurate costing. Evaluate factory samples, including base size prototypes, size sets and pre-production samples. Communicate approval and/or any changes to factories partners via FastFit360. Create, maintain and finalize construction specs, BOMs, and measurement charts. Manage base size prototype fitting in collaboration with cross functional team members. Instruct factory partners on necessary pattern changes to correct the fit. Evaluate graded size set samples on dress forms and fit models ensuring that grading standards and design esthetics are followed across the size range. Daily communication with international factory partners. Participate with onboarding and training of new factories. Manage sample storage. Ensure samples are tagged and location information is accurate in PLM. Support Product Development team as needed. Ensure company standards for quality, function and reducing environmental impacts are met. Report team performance metrics to management, keeping all PLM data entries up to date and accurate. Job Requirements: 5 years’ experience in garment construction and manufacturing Degree in a related field (Apparel, Product Development, Technology) Excellent understanding of the apparel commercialization process from inception through production. Proven experience working with groups across difference in respectful and equitable ways. Working knowledge of personal computers with experience ins such programs as PLM, FastFit360, Adobe Illustrator, Excel and Microsoft office. Browzwear experience a plus.
