Job Description: We have an exciting opportunity for experienced power engineers to join Openreach in our Fibre Network Delivery team to support our Fibre to the Premises footprint (FTTP). You’ll be responsible for of all aspects of our power network, this network includes green boxes located in the street, and similar in our Exchanges, underground or mounted on a Pole. Duties include certification, repair, routines, recovery and all power projects on behalf of Openreach network in accordance with current policy and guidelines as directed by Openreach ensuring the safety of the network, our people and our customers. The role could require you to be on call, to ensure we deliver the 24/7 repair service on service outages across the Next Generation Access (NGA) network. Job Responsibilities: Make sure that our kit is certificated in accordance with current requirements as defined and documented by Openreach, and that all certificates and power documentation is accurate and managed appropriately Work closely with the power control team to improve customer and end user satisfaction levels Street works legislation (New Roads and Street works Act 1991), understand it sufficiently to be able to comply with it, working safely, ensuring the safety of the public, avoiding prosecutions and penalties, and relying on their own knowledge or on their ability to recognise when they will need specialist support Job Requirements: Testing Qualification – 2391-52 / 2391-1 / 2394&2395 City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition (Regulations) A driving license with no more than 6 points Be physically fit, able to bend, lift, climb and work in confined spaces Willing and able to maintain appropriate certification as required by the business for your role.
