Job Description: This position is responsible for product ownership, software installation, configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and administration of job scheduling products used in the Technology Organization (TO). Tools currently in use are Jobtrac, Control-M, and AutoSys Workload Automation. Job Responsibilities: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Possess attention to detail. Professional oral and written communication skills. Excellent listening and comprehension skills. Ability to effectively organize tasks, manage multiple priorities/details, meet schedules, and deliver on customer commitments. Ability to build relationships and work in a team atmosphere. Ability to provide and accept feedback. Assist operations staff with understanding functions of the scheduling tools. Continuously identify process improvement opportunities with scheduling tools, processes, and documentation. Respond to job scheduling change requests from our business partners in a timely manner. Participate in disaster recovery exercises that involve batch scheduling for business-critical applications. Communicate progress, problems, and best practices to management and team. Job Recruitments: Experience performing product software installation, configuration, lifecycle management, patching, and licensing management. Experience creating scheduler jobs, job logic, schedules, calendars, as well as testing jobs and deploying jobs to production. Experience writing software using modern programming languages or scripting is preferred. Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux or Windows system administration tasks and security policies. Working knowledge of IBM Mainframe operating environment. Working knowledge of SQL databases such as SQL Server or Oracle. Demonstrated ability to work with others as a team and with multiple Southern Company systems groups and the Technology Organization to ensure the overall integrity of the batch scheduling environment. Demonstrated ability to perform in-depth troubleshooting of events that involve the health and availability of the batch scheduling environment. Demonstrated ability to interface and coordinate software product issues with external vendors, partners, or service providers.
