Job Description: If you are selected as the Coordinator for Alaska Environmental Permitting and Waste, you will be supporting the ConocoPhillips Alaska Environmental Sustainability & Permitting team by securing environmental and land use permits associated with exploration, development and production operations. Job Responsibilities: Audit ConocoPhillips Alaska operations for compliance with environmental permits and regulations, along with waste regulations and procedures Establish and maintain interdependent working relationships with ConocoPhillips Alaska projects groups, discipline engineers, field operations, and field environmental coordinators Identify and implement continuous improvement measures with a focus on systemization and fit-for-purpose solutions Support field environmental coordinators with non-routine waste compliance issues Monitor regulatory developments related to waste issues, keep field environmental coordinators informed of changes, and assist in the preparation of field rollout Consider lifecycle impacts of permitting decisions and apply critical thinking to mitigate potential adverse impacts Function as a subject matter expert for ConocoPhillips Alaska’s compliance with waste regulations; communicating guidance and strategy Work closely with operations and project personnel to anticipate needs as well as identify potential obstacles and opportunities for permitting Evaluate and communicate potential impacts of permitting decisions to internal collaborators Assist field environmental coordinators with efforts to reduce costs associated with waste management Engage contractors to assist with permitting and planning, as needed, and handle associated budgets Prepare day-to-day operational and development permit applications and renewals (e.g., gravel mining, gravel and ice roads and pads, bridges, rights-of-way, and water sources) Support ConocoPhillips Alaska operations to align with the company’s Commercial Waste Management Program—including requests to add new facilities to the list of approved facilities, as needed Utilize innovation to reduce environmental impact of permitting decisions and/or drive responsible cost reduction and workplace efficiency Cultivate and maintain good working relations with regulatory agency personnel and other key external collaborators Serve as primary contact with regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders for assigned permitting activities Job Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee 3+ years of experience with project management processes and tools (e.g., project planning, prioritization, scheduling, critical path analysis, cost tracking) Demonstrated ability to innovate and think strategically Current/Valid driver’s license Basic level of knowledge in oil and gas exploration and production field operations Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering, Science, other related technical field or foreign equivalent Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right 1+ years of experience overseeing contractor performance 1+ years of experience implementing complex compliance programs 3+ years of experience with environmental regulatory permitting Basic level of knowledge in Arctic environments Job Details: Company: ConocoPhillips Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Anchorage, AK, US Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here getyourvacancy.com
