Job Description: This internship will be located in Asheville, NC. Interns will undertake short-term responsibilities which may involve any or all of the following: electric distribution design, distribution system planning, distribution system operations, or distribution project management. The student selected will be assigned to specific duties once on board. In addition of the Microsoft suite of software, other software applications utilized by electric utilities will be used. In addition to working within your discipline, you may be asked to work across a multi-engineering discipline platform. Selected student may work part time during spring/fall semesters and full time during the summer. Job Requirements: Demonstrated technical proficiency in use of computers, software, and engineering applications Cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs Ability to deliver superior results within allocated time through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and execution of assigned work Demonstrated tenacity by remaining persistent in the face of difficulty Currently enrolled and pursuing a four-year degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology at an accredited college or university Must live within 50 miles of assigned working location Available to work part-time (minimum 20 hours per week) Previous engineering work experience Valid driver’s license Desire to pursue a career in the energy industry Required to wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, appropriate clothing, ear plugs, fall protection, etc.) as needed Job Details: Company: Duke Energy Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Asheville, NC, US Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here getyourvacancy.com
