Job Description: Assist with research, development, and creation of interpretive projects for use in the Fishing in the City (FIC) and/or Classroom Aquarium Education Program (CAEP). Incumbent will work with the Regional program coordinator to accomplish clearly-defined interpretive projects to serve one or both educational programs. Assist a Fish and Wildlife Interpreter II and other scientific staff as needed in various aspects of field projects involving data collection, species and habitat protection, or restoration projects. Utilize computer programs for data entry/record keeping. Create interactive displays and presentations. Maintain reference materials, photos, specimen collections, and/or related equipment needed for public support and to meet California Department of Fish and Wildlife rules and regulations. Respond to public information requests and public phone calls. Assist with promoting environmental awareness using a variety of media sources which might include website, social media, brochures, maps, publications, and other media materials. Prepare and submit monthly paperwork, including timesheets, vehicle logs, activity reports, travel expenses, and related documents. Job Requirements: Ability to use a computer with internet access. Occasional travel to the San Francisco Bay Area may be required depending on the project. Work will mostly be performed at a location of the incumbent’s choosing on a flexible schedule.
