Job Description: The Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program ( BHIP) Social Worker provides a full range of Mental Health services to the population enrolled at the Hershel "Woody" Williams VAMC. Job Responsibilities: Develop an assessment of the veteran in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team, the veteran, family members and significant others; Provide evidence based treatment modalities; Select and provide the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care, including evidence-based care for psychosis/schizophrenia spectrum, PTSD, mood disorders, and co-occurring disorders such as anxiety and substance abuse; Review the progress notes from the other providers to accurately determine the strengths and limitations of each veteran being referred for mental health services; Other duties as assigned. Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work.
