Job Description: Under the direction of the Driver Safety Manager II, the incumbent plans, organizes, assigns and directs work to Driver Safety Hearing Officers (DSHO) and Senior Motor Vehicle Technicians (SMVT); trains, mentors and supervises staff of DSHOs and SMVTs; conducts quality reviews; prepares probationary and performance appraisal reports; provides coaching and guidance; initiates corrective measures; maintains quality control of work; ensures accuracy and timeliness; handles various personnel matters; follows departmental policies and procedures related to employee issues; tracks requests for information and other documents with due dates; prepares production and other statistical reports; develops and maintains cooperative relationship with union representatives to resolve employee complaints and grievances; acts to resolve customer complaints; and ensures prompt, courteous and complete service to the public.
