Job Description: The incumbent serves as an Intelligence Specialist (GIS Program) and subject matter expert on Geographic Information System (GIS) programs and their use in enhancing all-source intelligence analysis. Develops advanced GIS analysis techniques and supporting technologies, and evaluates current applications, which support battlespace visualization advancements. Job Responsibilities: The Incumbent Uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other automated tools to analyze complex relationships between geospatial and all-source intelligence information. Leads project-level analytic teams to create all-source products based on multiple data sources including digital terrain data, multi-spectral methodology developments, data base developments, data transformations, data synthesis, geospatial model development, and analysis. Coordinates, monitors, and integrates valid intelligence while ensuring timely, comprehensive and accurate response. Identifies intelligence gaps, specifies collection requirements to fill gaps in information, evaluates resulting intelligence collected in response to requirements and determines analytical approach. Identifies significant trends within assigned subject-matter area and proposes new or revised analytical projects to alert decision-makers to new developments and to meet customer requirements. In consultation with senior analysts, develops and/or recommends complex analytical approaches to problems and situations for which data are incomplete, controversial, or for which no precedent exists. Serves as a team member on Agency-wide, multi disciplinary efforts that involve critical all-source geospatial intelligence analysis issues. Represents DIA position to senior policymakers in briefings on all-source geospatial intelligence. Provides input to policymakers on key commercial geospatial intelligence analysis tools and trends. Collaborates in developing and strengthening substantive ties with other government organizations. Collaborates with other Intelligence Community analysts on intelligence analysis and with collectors through analyst-assisted collection targeting. Job Requirements: Ability to write Python, R, Java or similar scripting languages. Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software products on desktop, web-based, and enterprise platforms Works independently to create accurately written, complex products tailored to a specific audience in an easily understandable manner. Makes insightful, well-reasoned, and timely decisions by assessing the relevance and impact to the organization. Continues to expand and maintain diverse professional working relationships to actively and effectively network across directorate and Agency functions; continually uses networks to resolve issues and problematic situations by sharing resources and lessons learned.
