Job Description: This position is designated as Moderate Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation. Job Responsibilities: Provide information regarding analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for the solution of problems/issues. Plan, conduct, and/or provide technical expertise to complex, often multi-media, air quality studies which are parts of much larger scientific studies/programs/activities. Serve as regional technical authority in matters pertaining to air pollution for control strategy modeling, permit modeling, and other modeling and scientific data analysis in support of the Clean Air Act. Advise and conduct studies/analyses not only in chemical transport and dispersion modeling, but also in other technical aspects of air impact assessment, meteorological monitoring and analysis, air quality monitoring and analysis, and characterization of source emissions. You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
