Job Description: The incumbent is responsible for all phases of the statewide aviation program including operations, management, administration, safety, training, and program evaluation. The incumbent provides advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, project leaders and their staffs, to ensure aviation safety and cost- effectiveness in meeting a variety of Bureau missions and objectives. Job Responsibilities: The majority of the employee's duties are directed toward supporting aerial fire suppression and fire use activities. Prior experience and training in wildland firefighting and the use of aircraft in fire suppression is required to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position. This position may have supervisory responsibility. The level of aviation management staffing at the State Office level depends on the magnitude and complexity of aviation operations conducted within any given state. The incumbent is responsible for actively supporting and implementing the Equal Opportunity Program as specified in bureau guidance and affirmative action plans. Job Requirements: You will be required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license. You will be required to submit to a drug test and receive a negative drug test result prior to appointment. In addition, this position is subject to random testing for illegal drug use.
