Job Responsibilities: Responsible for applying the policies and programs of the Department of the Interior in the management of multiple-use programs on the public lands. Make final District planning and programming decisions and resolution of both long-range and day-to-day planning and program conflicts arising from Field offices. Responsible for administration of a variety of management programs such as safety, upward mobility, EEO, student and intern opportunities, overtime usage, employee engagement, management of real and personal property, etc. Responsible for overall program direction, execution, and review of all activities within the District Perform personnel management tasks such as making selections for district positions; approving annual and sick leave; establishing performance standards and evaluating performance; hearing and resolving complaints and grievances. Responsible for the administrative and technical supervision of a large and complex staff, which requires managing work through subordinate supervisors including Field Managers, team leaders, and/or contractors Develop internal programs, plans and procedures to ensure subordinate supervisors implement personnel programs. Oversees position management planning and implementation to achieve statewide direction and objectives. Job Requirements: You cannot hold an active real estate license: nor can you have an interest or hold stocks in firms with interest in Federal Lands.
