Job Description: The Patient Safety Incident Investigator is a member of the Maternity Governance Team. This role will be responsible for supporting the Patient Safety Incident Lead in the governance of patient safety related incidents, risks and associated programmes of work. The post holder will be responsible for implementing core requirements in relation to patient safety incident management. The Patient Safety Incident Manager will act as an expert advisor and investigator in regard to patient safety incident investigations. This is in support of positively impacting organisational learning and culture. The post holder will play a key role in assisting the Maternity Governance Team in ensuring effective systems and processes for incident reporting and management are developed, maintained and monitored and that accurate information is available to meet internal and external requirements Job Responsibilities: Process routine enquiries and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner, including drafting of letters, and drafting of incident report templates under the guidance of the Patient Safety Incident Lead. Maintain accurate administrative systems for all files, both manual and electronic. Prepare and organise paperwork for meetings, interviews, training and educational sessions. Receive telephone calls and personal visitors to the Team and handle patient safety enquiries acting on the post holder’s own initiative, or recognising the need for senior input.
