EDC Jobs – Associate – Investment Manager

Job Description:

EDC is seeking an investment professional to join our Investments Team with a focus on the Advanced Technology industry. We are an evergreen investment group with approximately $2.5 billion in committed and invested capital that invests independently or in partnership with other investors under commercial industry terms, conditions and return expectations. By structuring tailored growth capital transactions for Canadian businesses, we support their international growth aspirations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build Financial Models – Utilize customized excel financial models for valuation, risk assessment and cash flow profiling purposes
• Present to Investment Committee – Create detailed and easily understandable materials and present them to the Investment Committee made up of EDC’s senior executives
• Demonstrate Teamwork – Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders such as business development, technical advisory services, legal, accounting, lenders and co-investors
• Negotiate Legal Documentation – Review investment legal documentation, contribute to the execution of transaction documents, and assess and recommend amendments as needed
• Manage a Portfolio – Monitor the performance of portfolio investments including using various standard valuation techniques to assess the fair market value of specific investments

Job Requirements:

• Ability to understand complex legal contracts
• Ability to operate independently and represent EDC in front of founders, senior executives and other investors in the
• Canadian private equity ecosystem
