Job Description: Our team is seeking a Site Environmental Technician (SET) who will responsible for managing environmental compliance at Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) Facilities in the United Kingdom. The SET will assist in implementation and enforcement of standards and policies to support environmental and regulatory compliance and provide guidance for operations, maintenance and construction teams. The individual will complete environmental inspections and performance analysis, monitor metrics, undertake waste activities for the site and facilitate site implementation of Amazon environmental standards. Job Responsibilities: Support the REE/REM in Evaluating and developing process improvements for identified risks. Execute site environmental action plan development for any deficiencies noted from trends, audits and inspections. Support other ATS sites with environmental compliance. Analyze environmental metrics and review weekly and monthly trends to determine where improvements are needed. Execute relevant environmental procedures as dictated by business and regulatory needs. Support the REE /REM in Measuring and analyzing sites’ performance against published requirements in environmental policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies. Execute waste , surface water site inspections. Manage and execute waste management activities, classification, reporting and permitting requirements Manage and execute site responsibilities to comply with air emissions, surface water, wastewater, waste and other environmental related laws, regulations and permits. Support the REE /REM with Facilitating root cause analyses for all environmental incidents and recommend appropriate corrective actions for network implementation. Monitor and provide guidance on site performance against applicable environmental regulations, programs and Amazon global standards. Manage and prepare site specific environmental reporting to regulators and within Amazon. Show initiative to identify and implement corrective actions to eliminate any observed non-compliance or potential non-compliance situations. Execute site specific tasks associated with the implementation of Environmental Program Assessments. Job Requirements: Must be detailed minded and technically oriented to comfortably deep dive with engineering teams to understand operations process for environmental risk assessment. A completed Bachelor’s Degree in civil, chemical or environmental engineering or related field of environmental studies Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site and regional leaders Experience in engaging with Regulatory Agencies in permit applications Experience managing change in multiple site environments and the ability to influence peers and superiors In depth knowledge of UK, country and region specific Graduate or 1+ years of experience serving as an environmental technical resource, environmental specialist.
