Amazon Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Engineering organization is seeking a Sr Safety Engineering Manager. This role will carry the engineering vision and strategy to drive consistency in managing our safety risks across North America Operations. The Safety Engineering Manager will serve in a leadership role and functionally partner with North America business units, engineering, maintenance and safety teams to drive a systematic approach to address risk identification, mitigation, and management of safety solutions. Job Responsibilities: Accurately report metrics on a regular cadence to leadership team Working with other groups within the organization, investigate any safety-related incidents to determine cause(s) and preventive measure(s) Partnering with others within the organization, support effective change management by performing safety risk assessments, design reviews and regulatory compliance reviews on equipment and operations processes Support capital procurement processes as well as building design, specification and launch processes to ensure safety in designed in early Lead a team of safety engineers, providing direction and oversight of each team member’s day-to-day responsibilities; provide coaching and mentorship to help them develop and advance their careers Partner with various Engineering and Safety teams to support safe equipment design, and with various internal business units, as well as with third party service providers and end-user customers, to ensure the safe deployment, maintenance and use of equipment Serve as the point person for Safety Engineering in the field, and lead cross-functional teams to manage and respond to any safety-related incidents from the time of incident through driving to complete corrective action/resolution. Manage this process at all levels of the company, including providing regular reports to the senior leadership team Design, develop and implement field escalation protocols and communication plans related to safety events and regularly audit the effectiveness of such measures through formal and informal evaluations Qualification & Experience: Certified Safety Professional Extensive Material Handling Equipment (MHE) knowledge 7-10 years’ experience in safety engineering Experience in a fast paced, growing organization Knowledge of OSHA and region-specific regulations and relevant machine related NFPA, ANSI, ISO, UL, IEC etc. standards Robotics and other automation technologies experience Demonstrable experience in machinery safety engineering with good working knowledge of functional safety Experience implementing Lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment Master’s Degree in Engineering Bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering or a related field Job Details: Company: Amazon Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Nashville, TN, US Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here getyourvacancy.com
