Job Description: We have an exciting opportunity to join our Payroll Operations team as a Senior Payroll Practitioner on an 18 Month Fixed Term Contract where you'll be responsible for the accurate and timely production and administration of Payroll services. You'll report to one of the C4 Payroll Operations Team Leaders, and your primary responsibility is to deliver timely, accurate and complete transactional input (either directly or indirectly) to enable Payroll processing on a weekly, perhi Ciodic or ad hoc basis. The scope encompasses service delivery to all parts of the business – retail, store support centres and distribution across Sainsbury’s, and Sainsbury’s Bank and you'll be expected to be flexible in working as needed across any of those teams. You'll deliver a high standard and professional service and utilise your expertise to apply second line query resolution for AskHR teams. Job Responsibilities: Validate and execute input of other payroll related data such as Bonus, severances, sacrifices (C2W, childcare, holiday etc.) shares, Alabaster etc Provide 2nd line expert support to the AskHR team, enabling Colleague and Management pay queries to be effectively handled Undertake pay corrections, including running ‘Quick Pay’ calculations and ensure corrective activity is processed in the appropriate system where necessary (e.g. Kronos, HCM) and preparing ‘advances’ as necessary for review by the Payroll control team and subsequent payment Prepare and execute uploads of Excel or similar data entry including ensuring appropriate authorisation controls are in place Perform effective validation and review of all remote input to the payroll system on a weekly basis. This is inclusive of (but not exclusively) Kronos time data for retail and logistics and Excel or other data capture for areas of the business e.g. Sainsbury’s bank Input pay data not provided by self-service or system integrations and ensure that appropriate authorisation is obtained. This includes statutory or regulatory elements such as court orders, attachment of earnings, tax codes, student loans etc. either received through post or RTI via the HMRC portal Maintain and process loan requests (season ticket, car loan, professional qualifications and prepare payment requests for Payroll Control Team review. This will include processes and procedures to obtain, chase and review documentation and receipts where necessary Undertake post pay run error recycle activities within period (weekly pay runs) enabling corrective activity to be undertaken and also post period end where manual pay corrections may be needed Respond to error and warning messages in the event that integrations have ‘failed’ and data received is incomplete or erroneous and ensure escalation to resolution on a timely basis Job Requirements: Build great relationships with HR Operations Teams – role modelling collaborative working across the teams.
