Job Description: Reporting directly into the DPO, this FTC role will support assessment of SBAFS compliance with privacy legislation and regulations. It requires consultancy and oversight to stakeholders and business areas to ensure successful embedding of the data protection controls across the business. Job Responsibilities: We want you to assess and manage impact of data protection risk related change against SBAFS risk appetite and support through Data Protection Impact Assessments. You will deliver consultancy on data protection risk to internal colleagues and support managers in managing data protection risk within their areas. You will be responsible for the development and support of the Data Protection Impact Assessment process and related templates. You will ensure data protection risks are managed within board-agreed risk appetites. We’d like you to engage the Process Risk and Control Assessment activity to make sure data protection risks are appropriately identified, assessed, tested, and reported. You’d be monitoring and review all aspects of data protection obligations to ensure SBAFS control, governance and assurance frameworks are compliant with law and regulatory expectations. We want you to promote & facilitate data protection risk awareness and understanding across SBAFS through generic and targeted training. Job Requirements: You will have a demonstrable background managing and working with data protection/information governance frameworks with particular focus on developing and performing oversight on the data protection risk and control environment. You will have excellent negotiation, influencing, relationship management and communication skills and able to translate complex / technical issues to meet the audience's competency level and in their 'language'. Ideally, you will have experience in information governance, business risk management, audit, or information security. We’d like you to be able to challenge colleagues in a collaborative and constructive manner to drive a pragmatic risk approach to data protection risk mitigation. You will show a strong track record in delivering practical and compliant data protection controls / solutions, as well as assisting in the development of Data Protection Impact Assessments with the organisation. Any Data protection qualifications such as BCS/ISEB DP Practitioner or IAPP CIPP, CIPM, CIPT would be highly advantageous.
