Job Description Successful candidates will be expected to progress through the Pascagoula Formal Maintenance Training Program within 3 years of their hire date to become competent and skilled in all aspects of the machinist craft. Candidates must be knowledgeable of industrial pump repair, industrial compressor repair, and operating machine shop equipment. Experienced candidates have the potential for early completion of the training program (in as little as (15) fifteen months). This will be based on demonstrated competency witnessed and approved by the Team Leader and a formal test out process. Trainees who successfully test out will receive pay increases that reflect these advanced steps as they progress through the training program. Both written and hands on skill assessments are required to progress through the advanced training. All candidates will be required to successfully demonstrate the ability to climb heights up to 200 feet and satisfy confined space entry testing. Job Responsibilities Troubleshooting, disassembly, inspection, repair and assembly of industrial pumps, industrialcompressors and steam turbines Rotating equipment removal and installations to include alignment using reverse alignment and laser alignment Operating outside machinery to include operation of portable machine equipment Reading machinery and rotating equipment drawings and documenting the readings Operating manual machine shop equipment, including lathe, milling machines, boring machines, balancing machines, drill presses, etc. Using precision measuring instruments in field and shop environments. Performing other incidental craft work, e.g., fabrication, machinery, etc. in order to complete job. Organizing, planning and executing daily work assignments. Following routine duties, safe work practices and demonstrating safe work behaviors. Job Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent. A valid Driver’s License Basic computer skills 2 years’ work experience (military service is considered work experience) or completed an accredited trade/vocational program. Successful completion of an Internship at the Chevron Pascagoula Refinery as a Machinist Intern or formalized apprenticeship training program. Relevant machinery trade school endorsed by the Central Gulf Industrial Alliance (CGIA), military a formalized training program graduate. Minimum of 5 years inside machinists or outside machinery/millwright experience. Automotive and/or industrial motorized equipment repair experience.
