Job Description: Provides research, factual information, counsel, and guidance on basic legal questions or issues; Prepares memoranda and initial drafts of legal documents for commercial and products litigation; personnel; and general work with commercial agreements. Job Responsibilities: Drafts routine legal and business documents and reports May provide legal service to one or more assigned departments or units of the organization Assists with collection and organization of documents and information for discovery and prepares files for trial Researching, analyzing, and interpreting proposed and existing laws, statutes, and regulations Updates company law library with current changes in legislation Liaising with external legal counsel on legal issues. Assist in identifying, evaluating, and addressing issues of legal risk Creates purchase orders for legal invoices and submits legal invoices for payment Structuring, drafting, reviewing legal contracts, letters of agreement, policies and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters Support more senior legal counsel with litigation, arbitration, mediation or other disputes with courts, government agencies, or other legal authorities Examines documents for legal sufficiency Meet with other internal departments as needed to accomplish MBV projects requiring legal participation Legal contact for visa needs for new hires and current MBV employees traveling abroad; coordinates with outside counsel as needed Provides research, factual information, counsel, and guidance on basic legal questions or issues Job Requirements: Juris Doctorate Degree from a United States Law School and 0-2 years of relevant legal experience. Preferably in a manufacturing environment. Must possess the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality, dependability, and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work against deadlines and manage multiple tasks within a fast paced, team oriented environment. Knowledge of fundamentals of law. Must have excellent legal administration skills and strong organization skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, document management software, and e-discovery.
