Job Description:

Provides research, factual information, counsel, and guidance on basic legal questions or issues; Prepares memoranda and initial drafts of legal documents for commercial and products litigation; personnel; and general work with commercial agreements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drafts routine legal and business documents and reports
  • May provide legal service to one or more assigned departments or units of the organization
  • Assists with collection and organization of documents and information for discovery and prepares files for trial
  • Researching, analyzing, and interpreting proposed and existing laws, statutes, and regulations
  • Updates company law library with current changes in legislation
  • Liaising with external legal counsel on legal issues.
  • Assist in identifying, evaluating, and addressing issues of legal risk
  • Creates purchase orders for legal invoices and submits legal invoices for payment
  • Structuring, drafting, reviewing legal contracts, letters of agreement, policies and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters
  • Support more senior legal counsel with litigation, arbitration, mediation or other disputes with courts, government agencies, or other legal authorities
  • Examines documents for legal sufficiency
  • Meet with other internal departments as needed to accomplish MBV projects requiring legal participation
  • Legal contact for visa needs for new hires and current MBV employees traveling abroad; coordinates with outside counsel as needed
  • Provides research, factual information, counsel, and guidance on basic legal questions or issues

Job Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate Degree from a United States Law School and 0-2 years of relevant legal experience. Preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must possess the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality, dependability, and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work against deadlines and manage multiple tasks within a fast paced, team oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of law.
  • Must have excellent legal administration skills and strong organization skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, document management software, and e-discovery.
