Job Description: Our team is very dynamic and composed of various skillsets coming together to create solutions for departmental use, and to work cross-functionally with IT and other areas on larger enterprise-scale projects. We are a Customer Service organization with responsibility for supporting and advancing the systems and processes that drive bill presentment and payment processing for Florida Power & Light and other NextEra subsidiaries, and the technical skills to do so. We play many roles from idea generation and functional/technical design to internal development, testing and deployment, or functioning as product owners and subject matter experts on IT projects. The ideal candidate will enjoy getting into the details of both legacy and contemporary systems and database back-ends, gaining real hands-on experience with existing ones and building new ones from scratch. Job Responsibilities: Meets attendance and storm duty requirements and has the ability to work extended hours Assists in defining software development project plans, including scopes, schedules, and implementation Designs, runs and monitors software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging Supports daily system operations within a specify discipline on a continual basis Writes, translates, and codes software programs and applications consistently to specifications and development standards per specific discipline Performs other job-related duties as assigned Writes programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary Develops an understanding of relevant system administration tasks including backup/recovery of systems and disaster recovery Liaises with network administrators, systems analysts, database administrators, external vendors, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems Conducts research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement, development and maintenance efforts Job Requirements: Working knowledge in automating tasks using scripting languages such as Python or Powershell Interest in interfacing with vendors and internal IT on projects, from design and testing to implementation and production support Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Experience developing software using a modern 4G language (i.e. Java, Python, C#, etc.) Working knowledge of building and/or integrating with RESTful APIs Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases (i.e. Oracle, Postgres, SQLite, MongoDB) Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues across business and technical disciplines, with a strong bias for action Job Details: Company: FPL Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Miami, FL, US Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here getyourvacancy.com
