Job Description: The Director, Ethicon Strategic Insights, Americas is responsible for leading the Insights and Analytics Function, directly supporting the North America and Latin America Regions for Ethicon. S/He will serve as key representative on the U.S. Ethicon Regional Leadership Team as well as various U.S. Commercial Teams and will have primary responsibility for integrating multiple data sources and insights across the U.S. organization. S/He will also manage key resources in Latin America who serve on Commercial Leadership teams to provide insights and analytics for that region. S/He will be the key contact for regional marketing leadership, as well as a connection point with other key analytics roles across Medical Devices. S/He will require a high degree of business acumen and understanding, and must be able to activate a team to support learning and insight needs across the North America and Latin America businesses. Other key stakeholders include Commercial Operations, Sales, Strategic Account Management, and Finance organizations. Job Responsibilities: Demonstrating strong leadership and ability to build a high performance business insights team Working across primary and secondary market research, forecasting, competitive intelligence and market analytics. Prioritizing all the projects and activities requiring insights and analytics support to drive success for the North America and Latin America Regions Conducting primary market research to inform key business questions and strategies. Managing through others to acquire data or insights across the business to provide a succinct overview for key leaders Developing and implementing new innovative insights and business analytics tools and techniques and processes Serve as key strategic member of Ethicon U.S. Leadership Team and an objective steward of the Business Proactively providing fact based insights and analytics programs to address strategic business needs Job Requirements: Knowledge of and experience with secondary market research tools and techniques is required; examples include point of sale data, claims data, and hospital record data Highly analytical with an ability to tell stories through data analysis and visualization Strong business acumen including extensive product/market knowledge of medical devices, J&J and competition (other industries experience also recommended) High degree of intellectual curiosity with the ability to execute root cause analysis to detect underlying causation Detail oriented leadership style; comfortable getting into the details and working with large data sets Thorough working knowledge and experience with forecasting market performance and/or product/services revenue; Excel, Powerpoint, and Tableau proficiency is required Strong, fact-based influencing, negotiation and conflict management skills Experience in business process and policy design and performance management Strong verbal skills with clear, concise written communications; excellent executive presence Comfort with ambiguity and making decisions amidst uncertainty Ability to lead in high pressure, time sensitive situations Education: A degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Marketing is required. An MBA and/or an advanced degree is preferred.
