The Branch is seeking individuals for our Organizational Design and Classification Services Unit where you will provide strategic advice and guidance to clients on their organizational design and classification needs. The position involves significant collaboration and an inclusive approach to working with HR partners, client groups and bargaining agents. As part of our Job Evaluation Academy, we have implemented a development program to provide you with the requisite training, on-the-job experience as well as career development opportunities. All we ask is that you be fully engaged and successfully complete the training requirements and the accreditation casework within a time frame mutually agreed upon with your tutor! Based on your substantive classification and level and/or level of experience in human resources or organizational design and job classification specifically, you will be offered the associated classification level with the plan to successfully get you to the I0802A working level. As a centre of expertise, the Job Evaluation Initiatives Branch, Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, facilitates a one-employer approach for the Ontario Public Service's (OPS) enterprise-wide organizational design and job classification framework to reflect the evolution of organizational models and work and support the OPS' ability to be nimble and respond to changing priorities. As responsible stewards of public funds, program executives and managers are expected to apply the same care, attention and knowledge to making organizational decisions as they would to financial transactions. As such, the Employer has sub-delegated the authority to make classification decisions solely to employees in the Job Evaluation Initiatives Branch. Job Responsibilities: Participate in the classification accreditation program through the Job Evaluation Academy to obtain classification accreditation certificate and the delegated authority to render classification decisions on behalf of the Employer; Learn to provide advice to clients and HR business partners on organizational and job design and job classification; Learn how to write job descriptions, conduct organizational analysis and assess organizational structures Learn to do research and analysis through job validation reviews and relativity analysis; Learn how to render decisions related to the classification of positions by applying tools and resources such as job evaluation plans; and Participate in Branch projects and activities to support the OPS classification system and policy and program management. You anticipate the implications of organizational and environmental changes and determine how and when to address issues based on the analysis of the situation and the organizational climate and culture You think proactively and consult with partners to seek out strategic alternatives and weigh options based on their impacts.
