Job Description:

As the Grant Database Analyst, you are responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of our online grantmaking platform, including overseeing system planning and upgrades, on-going maintenance, and customizations to aid in the development of new programs. Your role will be responsible for the ongoing education, training and related technical support of our global grantmaking team. S/he is also responsible for all grant-related reporting requests.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages and maintains all systems and aspects of our online grants platform.
  • Develops and maintains all aspects of our relationship with grants database, including ongoing communication to ensure the highest quality of customer service with our grantees and our grantmaking team.
  • Develops and prepares grants statistical reports for management on a regular basis.
  • Develops and prepares regular grants data reports for management as well as custom reports upon request for our environmental, legal, accounting and public relations teams in a timely manner.
  • Provides data support for all new and ongoing data integration needs, including custom integrations with Accounts Payable and with our activist platform, Patagonia Action Works.
  • Reviews, analyzes and evaluates grant processes and implements improvements that streamline the grantmaking process
  • Customizes grant applications and reporting that accommodates the needs of our international grant programs.
  • Oversees contract negotiations with our grant system vendor and payments for annual fees and additional project expenses.
  • Manages our ongoing grants systems usership, including training of our grantmaking team, onboarding new team members and creates and manages support documentation.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the environmental movement with working knowledge of environmental issues
  • 4 years’ experience managing or implementing a grants platform, CRM or similar database system
  • Highly proficient with Excel, including the skill using complex formulas when working with large datasets
  • 2-4 years’ experience in project management, especially with data migration and/or integration
  • Thrives in a team-based work structure; ability to remain flexible towards change within the work environment and scope of responsibility.
  • Ability to mentor or coach co-workers on specific job duties and tasks.
  • Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on all areas of responsibility.
