Job Description:

The reporting location for this position is the Southern Service Center in San Diego.  This position will work under the direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory).

Job Responsibilities:

• The incumbent will serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of specialists and professionals serving State Parks in the southern portion of the state.
•  The primary responsibility of the position will be to provide natural resource expertise for park development projects, including project scoping, environmental review, wildlife/plant surveys, report writing, avoidance and minimization measures, permit acquisition, contract writing, mitigation planning, and habitat restoration.
• The incumbent will also prepare natural resource inventories and management goals and guidelines for natural resources for inclusion in General Plans and Land Management Plans.
• Field inventories will also typically require digital data collection, processing, and management involving the use of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
