Job Description: Tesla is seeking a certified Senior Electrical and Safety Engineer on the Cell Controls Engineering (CCE) team to be part of a world-class team of engineers that are responsible for designing and building the automation and robotic equipment at the Tesla factories. As a Senior Electrical and Safety Engineer, you are responsible for the safety portion of all projects from “cradle to grave”. This includes driving the safety design, architecture, implementation and assessment of automated equipment such as automated storage systems, robotics, automated case and pallet conveyance, automated guided vehicles, fixtures, etc. Electrical and Safety Engineers own the safety standard, code compliance, safety hardware selection and safety review process of the project as well as additional functions such as supplier relations, global supply management relation, procurement, installation and assessment. Job Responsibilities: Create system LOTO per OSHA requirements for new manufacturing equipment Responsible for all manufacturing equipment for successful passing third party inspections for Field Label or CE/UL Inspections (NFPA 791, FEB or NRTL) as part of the system qualification (IOQ) Specify components and suppliers Support and troubleshoot existing systems in production Electrical design, testing, commissioning of controls systems, control panels and associated equipment Collaborate with EH&S Standardize system level, power distribution, controls, safety code, fieldbus distribution and equipment safety, applied to all in-house new equipment Specify all machine electrical/ safety scope of works for internal and contracted vendor resources Perform Machine Safety Risk Assessments per industrial standards, FMEA and HAZOP Guidance and enforcement of National and International electrical and machine safety standards to all new equipment designed Job Requirements: Hands-on experience in design and development of PLC based control systems for use in factory automation Willing to work nights and weekends when determined by project needs Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, Electromagnetic Compatibility 2014/30/EU and all applicable standards and supporting annexes Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical troubleshooting in a high-volume automated manufacturing environment UL508A, B/ ANSI/ SEMI S2/ OSHA and all applicable codes and standards Proficiency selecting appropriate circuit protectors, wire and cable, sensors, safety hardware, PLC hardware, remote I/O, VFD and servo systems In depth knowledge of electrical designs compliancy, codes and standards or equivalent (local voltage usage, regulations, governing bodies) Able to work under pressure in the presence of stakeholders TUV or SIS certified Very good written and spoken English skills Job Details: Company: Tesla Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Richmond Hill, ON, CA Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here getyourvacancy.com
