Job Description: The role of Industrial Electrician will be 2nd shift position and therefore eligible for a 10% shift differential. The shift will be Monday-Friday, 4:30pm-2:30am. Please note work hours may be adjusted depending on business needs. The Industrial Electrician is part of Tesla Toronto Automation team. We are looking for a highly motivated, “hands-on” individual to join our team in the creation of control panels and wiring of field devices for a new generation of high speed, automated manufacturing equipment. Job Responsibilities: Lead efforts on safe work practices for the team Perform other related duties, as assigned Commissioning, installation, and troubleshooting of PLC based systems Reading and interpreting electrical schematics Interpreting electrical schematics and device layout drawings Electrical systems testing and debugging Wiring field control devices of custom engineered automated machinery. Assembly and point-to-point wiring of machinery control panels Populating panel back plates, point-to-point wiring, and field wiring of machine control devices Job Requirements: Must have thorough knowledge of current industrial electrical standards, ability to read electrical schematics, working knowledge of PLC's, sensors, motor control drives, servomotor systems and basic working knowledge of pneumatic controls. Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment Ability to travel internationally to support machine installation and commissioning. Ability to lift 45lbs Capable of performing repetitious duties, including lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time Basic computer skills required Must have excellent English reading, writing and verbal communication skills A valid Journeyman Electrician License- 442A or 309A license Experience using basic hand and power tools Proven experience in assembly of electrical systems for automated machinery Ability to safely handle tools and materials such as: ladders, inverters, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment.
