Job Description: Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Tooling Engineer, who will be responsible for the tooling engineering of Can Stamping Manufacturing Engineering consisting of Cupping, Deep-Drawing, Washing, Drying and Conveying for the Gigafactory in Austin. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for the design FMEA with the selected vendor Acts in accordance with compliance and security regulations Responsible for executing die builds for prototypes and serial production including vendor selection and project management Builds and maintains an attitude of team player to fellow positions within the home organization Responsible for executing the job with focus on cost, quality and timing Reports to Engineering Manager with Can Stamping Operations team Acts in accordance with environmental, health and safety regulations Responsible for die designs including selection of material, hardening and coating Works within Can Stamping team to troubleshoot and identify improvement opportunities related to tool and die can production Builds and maintains an attitude of team player to fellow positions to attached and interacting organizations Job Requirements: Mastery of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio / Project, Jira, Confluence Previous experience in (high-speed-)stamping manufacturing Able to work under intense time pressure in the presence others Previous experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing in particular drawn and iron metal forming processes beverage or food can among others) is highly desired Solidly organized, with meticulous attention to detail Previous experience in working in and acting with multiple groups of professionals Strong knowledge of CATIA a benefit Travel is included, including some internationally may be required from time to time Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical die designs Bachelor / Master of Science in Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering.
