Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Loan Sector Group, ensure that all operational transactions in the field (loan disbursements, deposits, authorizations, amendments and other transactions) are handled in a timely manner and guide employees in resolving issues or issues that arise
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy and completeness of customer data processed in Abacus through the implementation of appropriate internal controls
  • Ensure the implementation and application of new or updated policies, procedures and processes throughout BDC by providing on-the-job training to field staff
  • Work closely with Corporate Services to develop a communication plan that will allow field staff to have a clear understanding of current, new or updated policies, procedures and processes for the purpose to achieve the expected results
  • Working closely with the Operational Support groups, plays a vital role in simplifying and improving the working methods of lending activities by recommending revised processes related to accounting functions and related financial reporting. to lending activities
  • Ensure employees are trained and customer-focused and help maintain the functionality of the Abacus system and provide branch offices with the tools they need to provide the most efficient service to customers. BDC
  • Work closely with the Financial Application Group to continue the evolution of ABACUS by making recommendations for new or improved features to meet customer and financial needs
  • Participate in and coordinate projects related to the integration of operational and financial systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts

Qualification & Experience:

  • University degree, specialized in finance or business administration
  • Accounting title (CA, CMA or CGA), an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English
  • At ease with computer systems and ability to find solutions
  • Minimum of eight years of work experience, including five years in the lending business (an asset)
  • Knowledge and experience related to branch activities of BDC
  • Knowledge of BDC policies to ensure compliance of lending and finance activities with them
  • Focused on customer service and willingness to change things
  • Experience in management and supervision of staff
