Southwest Airlines Entry Level Jobs – Senior Analyst NOC

Job Description:

The Senior Analyst NOC Safety Management System assists in the design, implementation, and oversight of processes by which Network Operations Control measures performance and verifies effectiveness of Southwest Airlines’ risk management processes. This includes, but is not limited to,  Safety data analysis and trending, creation and distribution of information within the NOC and to applicable SWA Departments, development of tools and resources for Assurance functions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Present Safety Assurance Plan results throughout the NOC Safety briefing process in support of Portfolio Management and Operations Risk
  • Registry (ORR) policies and procedures as outlined in the Southwest Airlines Operations Manual (SWOM).
  • Lead and conduct research projects using NOC Safety and related data.
  • Develop and maintain tools and resources for tracking Safety Assurance activities and reporting Safety Assurance results.
  • Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.

  • Provide friendly service to and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external Customers.
  • Coordinate review and analysis of data from internal and external databases for common reporting of incidents.
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.
  • Lead efforts to improve and maintain processes that measure Safety performance.
  • Lead NOC Safety documentation of safety assurance activities.
  • Present NOC Safety information to various groups, including management, Dispatchers, industry, and government groups.
  • Work in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of our Company.
  • Develop, coordinate and facilitate execution of Safety Assurance plans.
  • Ensure compliance with SMS regulations as it relates to documentation and record keeping of Safety Assurance and Safety Risk Management Outputs.
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced Degree in Aviation Science, Human Factors, Safety, or Aeronautics
  • 5 Years of combined data analytics, project management and/or experience  working with Aviation Safety and/or Safety Management Systems (SMS).  This must include Aviation and Safety and/or Human Factors experience with FAR Part 11 experience  preferred.
  • 2 Years of experience in Safety and/or Human Factors
  • 1 Year of experience in Aviation industry with FAR Part 121 experience preferred
  • Aircraft Dispatcher or FAA Pilot or Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate preferred.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
