Job Description:

The Marketing Manager role is part of the Brand & Product Marketing team, which contributes to Starbucks’ success by leveraging a test and learn approach to ensure customer-centric in-store and digital experiences. This role will enable go-to-market strategy with cross-functional partners, develop strategy for customer communications and support development of marketing capabilities & channels that deliver a connected and holistic brand experience.A successful candidate enjoys tackling new challenges, thinks strategically, executes methodically and excels in taking on ownership to successfully deliver results in a fast-paced, frequently changing and dynamic business environment. The role should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, delivering against key performance metrics and collaborating cross-functionally to drive programs forward.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and manages strategic roadmaps and marketing plans, including plan objectives, strategy, messaging, tactics, budgets and executive communication to deliver program goals
  • Creates audience appropriate presentation materials to ensure awareness and alignment across leadership and working teams
  • Builds strong relationships within a matrix structure to ensure achievement of business objectives as well as marketing message consistency and adherence to brand guardrails.
  • Provides input to consumer positioning, creative brief development, and supports creative briefing with cross functional partners. Evaluates creative concepts and final execution against the strategy.
  • Effectively provides creative feedback to internal and external agencies
  • Partners with multiple cross-functional partners to create optimal customer facing experiences in stores and through owned digital channels

Job Requirements:

  • Develops strategic marketing plans for new product/experience rollouts, rooted in customer insights and learnings
  • Collaborates with Analytics & Insights to design and execute test plans that provide customer insights and metrics for program/marketing measurement and performance. Leverage learnings to develop sound recommendations for projects. Brings data and insights together to tell a logical story
  • Sets clear ways to monitor individual progress and results and holds her/himself accountable for completing tasks; recognizes and celebrates the contributions of others
  • Manages day-to-day relationships with internal and external functional partners and vendors
  • Promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results
  • Manages day-to-day relationships with internal and external functional partners and vendors
  • Provides peer mentorship and guidance
  • Leverages experience with multi-channel A/B testing and customer research methodologies to support design of testing roadmaps to achieve improvement across key customer metrics
  • Provides marketing consultation and brand guidance for cross-functional initiatives across urban markets, product, loyalty, and other divisions
  • Partners with Design, Studio, Digital Products and Technology to create optimal customer facing experiences
  • Leverages consumer insights and applies research learnings to identify the target consumer and insights to inform the marketing plan, creative, and communication strategy

Qualification & Experience:

  • Innovation / new concept go-to-market planning experience preferred
  • Consulting experience preferred
  • MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of professional experience with 4+ years of experience in a role supporting marketing, innovation, brand management or product management
