Job Description:

As the Corporate Finance Manager, you will play a critical role in managing the Corporate Finance team while taking ownership over month end and year end closing, financial reporting and consolidations, budgeting and forecasting, complex accounting. You will use your enhanced insight to provide meaningful, timely and accurate analysis on current and future results for both real estate and brand performance. You are a key finance advisor who will work closely with leaders to assess accounting issues as well as assist with ad-hoc assignments and analysis on an as required basis.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee monthly and year-end financial close process including consolidating operational results for management reporting
  • Provide meaningful analysis on monthly financial results for both management reporting and financial reporting including analysis to budget and analysis to prior year
  • Be a key contributor on behalf of the Corporate Finance team to lead projects
  • Assist the Corporate Finance Director, and other business leads on other ad hoc work associated with acquisitions, complex accounting, financing, and forecasting
  • Work in close liaison with group auditors and other various auditors to resolve audit matters
  • Provide tax support to the tax function to ensure necessary tax disclosure and reporting for audit purposes
  • Manage budget debriefs with department VP and directors
  • Responsible for ensuring the efficiency of the year end audits and various statutory audits including the review and preparation of note disclosures
  • Manage the presentation of the consolidated budget to Senior Management
  • Own the completion of monthly and quarterly forecasting processes at a corporate level
  • Oversee the preparation of and responsible for the review of monthly consolidated financial statements in accordance with International
  • Financial Reporting Standards
  • Navigate the complexities associated with accounting for various ownership percentages, multiple functional currencies, and over 100 entities
  • Responsible for the co-ordination and preparation of the consolidated budget by working with hotel and corporate stakeholders
  • Provide analysis on variances, business drivers, and KPIs to facilitate budget review

Job Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) as this position interacts with a variety of employees including those in different geographical jurisdictions
  • The ability to think strategically with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Efficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot table, V-look ups)
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation (or equivalent)
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar management role in industry and/or public accounting
  • Detailed understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards with experience in complex accounting and being up to date on the constantly changing standards
