Job Description:

The Magnum Production Manager has full accountability for the operational performance of all Magnum production on site at Unilever Gloucester. The individual will assume leadership of four high speed production lines, producing more than 400m Magnums per year and includes a newly installed line which brings Magnum Doubles to Gloucester for the first time. The role has over 70 direct reports including dedicated engineering technicians and a process improvement lead.
The role is ideal for ambitious individuals who are seeking a challenging stepping-stone to senior supply operational roles in the future. The successful candidate will join an energetic, talented team and will be a critical part of the site’s transformation towards becoming a world class manufacturing facility.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Uses knowledge and application of technical skills and continuous improvement methodologies to support the improvement of operational performance.
  • Maintains and uses appropriate data capture systems, enabling in depth analysis of performance.
  • Ensures that the agreed KPIs are achieved in relation to Safety, Quality, Performance and Waste across the end-to-end manufacturing process
  • Identifies, prioritises, and addresses problems using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Leads the development of a large, high-performing team
  • On time and in full delivery of all Magnum innovation including both NPD and value creation projects.
    Ensures compliance with line procedures and specifications for materials, equipment, processes, and products within Magnum production.
  • Supports production planning through the movement of personnel and resources and optimised sequencing of production

  • Good commercial acumen and understanding of financial concepts.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the end to end manufacturing process.
  • Has successfully led improvement projects and managed the change and transition process with teams of people.
  • Strong servant leader, with significant demonstrable experience of achieving sustained success in developing people and teams, within a manufacturing environment.
  • Has knowledge and understanding of national Safety and Environmental legislation and company policy, systems and practice relevant to the factory and the legal responsibility placed upon individuals.
  • Considerable ability to drive a strong safety culture.
  • Ability to deal with ever-changing fast-paced environment, making quick sound decisions, prioritising and driving changes to the operation in real time
  • The ideal candidate will have a technical qualification to a degree level (Chemical / Mechanical Engineering, Food Processing/Engineering or equivalent) and should ideally have proficient mechanical skills to address day to day issues.
